Dolly Parton Imagination Library

Doveton College is an excited partner in the establishment of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Australia.  In Australia the Dolly Parton Imagination Library is run by United Way Australia, a charity organisation who work closely with Penguin Books Australia and Rotary.

Doveton Eumemmerring was one of the seven sites in Australia selected by United Way to pilot the program. The program began here in July 2013.

The Imagination Library delivers one free book per month to children aged 0-5. The Australian Imagination Library program was launched in Melbourne on 11th February. Dolly Parton believes that “if you can read, you can learn about anything”. Since launching her Imagination Library in 1996, 735,000 children around the world have received over 56 million books.

Currently there are 600 children under 5 in the Doveton Eumemmering postcode. 347 of these children have registered and receive a book a month through the post, free of charge.
