Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for the way in which you and your families have so quickly adapted to remote and flexible learning.  We have endeavoured to contact all families and ascertain your needs so that we can support you in the best way possible.

We have distributed laptops and iPads to provide access for all families.  We understand that some family members are needing to share a device at the moment.  We are waiting upon delivery of more devices to address this.  However, remember that many learning activities do not require children to be in front of the screen for the whole task.  We have tried to provide a balance of activities so that time looking at the screen is balanced with other tasks.

We also understand that some families are waiting for access to the internet and this is the case for many families across the state.  Consequently devices for this are hard to find.  We have been working to source these since late March and believe that we have finally been successful and some are due to arrive later this week.

Please access the REMOTE LEARNING tab on the website which has been updated to provide you with information about how your children will access their learning now.  Instructional videos have also been provided on the website to help you use Compass to email teachers and view lesson plans (COMPASS TRAINING tab).  All learning platforms can be accessed from https://home.dovetoncollege.vic.edu.au/

The REMOTE LEARNING information provides you with contact emails for the relevant classroom teachers and a mobile phone number for the year level leaders.  Most of our teachers and educators are working from home, so the best way to contact them is via email and they can call or email you back.

Thank you for working with us during this challenging time.  We continue to operate in accordance with the advice from the Premier, the Chief Health Officer and the Department of Education and Training.  If this advice changes we will continue to communicate as quickly as possible to keep you informed.
